The First Annual American Studies Network Meeting
June 14 and 15, 2004, Fudan University
Twenty-one of the member institutions sent representatives and guest speakers to the first annual American Studies Network Conference, hosted by the Center for American Studies at Fudan University in Shanghai.
Speakers included Shelley Fisher Fishkin, president of the American Studies Association, who spoke about Challenges in the field of American Studies; a representative from the US Consulate in Shanghai; and Beijing Foreign Studies University Professor Mei Renyi, who gave a speech recounting his 21 years of teaching American Studies in China.
