In mid-April Ambassador Nicholas Platt, USCET Advisory Council Chair presented a Thank You album to Mr. Maurice “Hank” Greenberg in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the USCET scholarship he endowed.

Launched in 2007 with 10 students at Yunnan University, the Maurice “Hank” Greenberg/CV Starr Scholarships (GSS) program awards scholarships based on high academic record, determination to succeed, and a commitment of giving back to the community.

“The Starr Companies will celebrate their 100th anniversary in China in 2019, which gives us an opportunity to reflect on all of our projects over many decades”, said Mr. Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, chairman of the Starr Companies and The Starr Foundation. 

“We are particularly proud of the scholarships we have supported in China; they are life-changers for the students and help to create China’s next generation of educated and productive citizens,” he said.  

Since it began a decade ago, the program has supported more than 100 students. Scholarships are awarded to freshmen and sophomores each year at Yunnan University in Kunming and Shandong University in Jinan, Shandong.

四月中旬，中美教育基金咨询委员会主席尼古拉斯·卜厉德（Nicholas Platt）大使向Maurice “Hank” Greenberg先生赠送纪念相册，感谢他支持中美教育基金奖学金的十周年。

Maurice “Hank” Greenberg/CV Starr Scholarship（GSS）奖学金项目启动于2007年云南大学，资助了10名成绩出众、积极上进、乐意回馈社会的大学生。

“Starr Companies集团的百周年庆将于2019年在中国举办，我们会在庆典上回顾过去几十年里参与过的所有项目。”Starr Companies和The Starr Foundation基金会的主席Maurice “Hank” Greenberg先生说。

“我们特别为在中国的奖学金项目感到自豪。它们改变了那些学生的人生，还帮助中国下一代教育和发展。”他说。

自从十年前项目启动时起，已有超过100名学生获得奖学金。奖学金每年发放给云南大学和山东大学的大一大二新生。
