USCET hosted a forum on American Society and Culture lead by Dr. Wang Enming, Program Director at the American Studies Center at the Shanghai International Studies University, and Dr. Jiexia Zhai Autry, Program Director at USCET and Research Professor at George Mason University. Lectures focused on religion in America, with Dr. Autry and Dr. J. Gordon Melton of Baylor University speaking. The forum also featured a panel discussion, with topics including religion’s impact on the Women’s Movement and the American Muslim community. Panelists were Former USCET American Studies Fellow Dr. Yao Guigui, Director of Center for American Culture Studies at the School of Foreign Language at Jianghan University, and current USCET American Studies Fellow Dr. Lin Ling, Associate Professor at Centre of American Studies at the Shanghai International Studies University.
