Ted Dean

Ted Dean is a partner at DGA-Albright Stonebridge and co-leads the China practice. 

Prior to DGA, Ted served as principal advisor on international affairs to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. In this role, Ted travelled with the Secretary across four continents, advised on China policy, coordinated Commerce Department activities in the US-EU Trade and Technology Council, led the relaunch of the US-India CEO Forum, and advised on all the Secretary’s international engagements. Ted covered a wide range of policy areas, including tariff policy, export controls, friendshoring initiatives, international tech and AI policy, and coordination with foreign governments on semiconductor incentives.   

Previously, Ted served in the Obama Administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary and Acting Assistant Secretary in the International Trade Administration at the Department of Commerce.  In those roles, he worked on issues at the intersection of trade, technology, and privacy policy. Outside of government service, Ted was the Head of Public Policy at Dropbox.  

Earlier in his career, Ted spent sixteen years in China, where he co-led a strategy consulting and investment advisory firm. While living in Beijing, he also served as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. 

Based in Washington, DC, Ted holds a BA in history from Yale College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

此前,特德曾在奥巴马政府时期担任商务部国际贸易管理局的副助理部长和代理助理部长。在这些职位上,他负责处理贸易、技术和隐私政策交叉领域的问题。在政府部门之外,特德曾担任 Dropbox 的公共政策主管。

职业生涯早期,特德在中国生活了十六年,期间他共同领导了一家战略咨询和投资顾问公司。在北京生活期间,他还曾担任中国美国商会主席。

特德常驻华盛顿特区,拥有耶鲁大学历史学学士学位和芝加哥大学布斯商学院工商管理硕士学位。
