The School of English and International Studies (SEIS) at Beijing Foreign Studies University is proud to announce the launch of the American Studies Faculty Development Program, which will be held from July 16-27, 2012. Funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and the U.S.-China Education Trust, this two-week intensive program aims to train qualified college faculty who will offer American studies courses in their home institutions. The program will offer five courses taught by five senior professors at SEIS: Major American Women Writers, American Intellectual Traditions, Strategic Decisions in the Rise of the U.S., History of American Economic Development, and Social Stratification in the U.S. Each course meets four times a week, two hours per class. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a Certificate of the American Studies Faculty Development Program jointly issued by the U.S.-China Education Trust and SEIS. The program plans to recruit 20 participants from colleges across the country. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. SEIS will provide free shared room for out-of-Beijing participants. All participants will be given a 50-RMB-per-day meal allowance. Transportation to and from Beijing and local transportation costs are the responsibility of each participant.

北京外国语大学英语学院宣布将在2012年7月16-27日期间开办美国研究教师发展项目。该项目由亨利·鲁斯基金会和中美教育基金会资助，对准备教授美国研究的高校教师进行为时2个星期的高强度训练。该项目提供五项课程由五位英语学院的资深教授教导：重要美国女性作家、美国思想传统、美国崛起的战略决策、美国经济发展史、以及美国的社会分层。每堂课每周四次，每次2小时。完成项目后，参与者将受到由USCET和SEIS共同颁发的美国研究教师发展项目证书。该项目准备接受20位学生的报名。SEIS会为外地学生提供免费的住房。所有学生将每天获得50元伙食费。前往北京的路费和北京当地的交通费将由学生自付。
