
Alison Xiao is a Program and Communications Intern at the US-China Education Trust (USCET) for the 2026 Spring Semester. She assists with communication, operations, research, and program development.
Alison is a M.A. in International Affairs candidate with a concentration in International Security in Asia at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. She received her B.A. in Global Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she completed her thesis about soft power diplomacy in East Asia and earned highest departmental honors. Her academic interest has been in U.S. security policy, peace and reconciliation efforts, and nuclear non-proliferation policy in East Asia.
Before interning at USCET, Alison was an Assistant Language Teacher on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET Program) for two years, where she taught English to K-8 Japanese students in Kobe, Japan. She was also a Communications intern at USAID.

Alison 现在于乔治·华盛顿大学艾略特国际事务学院国际事务硕士在读,研究方向为亚洲国际安全。她本科毕业于加州大学洛杉矶分校(UCLA),主修全球研究,完成了关于东亚软实力外交的毕业论文,并获得系内最高荣誉。她的学术兴趣主要集中于美国安全政策、和平与和解进程,以及东亚地区的核不扩散政策。
在加入中美教育基金之前,Alison 曾作为日本政府“日本交流与教学计划”(JET Program)的外语助教在日本神户任教两年,为日本小学至初中(K–8)学生教授英语。她还曾在美国国际开发署(USAID)担任传播实习生。
