Media Studies Programs
Why offer programs on Media Education? USCET's Media Education programs provide journalism students and media practitioners in China the opportunity to obtain a first-hand account of how the media interacts with and influences public opinion in the US and around the world. These programs provide valuable insight regarding media professionalism and media ethics in light of US commitments to press freedoms and a democratic society. The central role that the media - the "Fourth Estate" - plays in American society inspires USCET's commitment to this area as part of its mission to promote US-China relations through education and exchange for China's next-generation leaders.
USCET's Media Education Consortium connects more than thirty Chinese schools of journalism and communications to ideas and resources, organizes conference and hands-on workshops, and provides a platform under which other media programs are organized.
