Program Description

The American Studies Program at East China Normal University was officially launched in 2004. It has since grown into a strong program offering a wide range of core courses on American history, politics, literature, arts and popular culture. It has also developed close working ties with some leading American Studies programs in the U.S. and around the world, including a joint 2-week-long graduate seminar with Purdue University attended by students from both schools. The program with its dedication to excellence in research and teaching is the centerpiece of ECNU's Center for American Studies established in 2009 to bring together the valuable resources from the entire university.
