USCET Advisory Board Member Marlene Johnson Appointed to Newly Created HSAAC

USCET Advisory Board Member Marlene Johnson, who is the CEO and Executive Director of NAFSA, was recently appointed to the newly created Homeland Security Academic Advisory Council (HSAAC).  HSAAC is comprised of university presidents and academic leaders and is charged with advising Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and senior leadership at the Department of Homeland Security on issues related to U.S. higher education.  The group will have its inaugural meeting on March 20 in Washington, DC.


USCET Expands Its Team

USCET is pleased to announce the addition of new 3 staff members. Henry Levine, who has thirty years of experience in the US-China relations field, joined USCET as Executive Director in December 2011. He has been indispensible in our daily operations and has already helped expand USCET's 2012 programs. Jessica Chow took on the newly developed role of Program Assistant in January 2012 and, most recently, Jodie Klein joined USCET as the Program Manager in February 2012.


USCET to Launch First American Cultural Center, to be called Info USA@BFSU, Under New US Embassy Grant on December 9

USCET is pleased to announce a grant from the US Embassy in Beijing to collaborate with Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) in establishing an American Reading Room and Information Center, to be called Info USA@BFSU. Info USA will be situated in the American Studies Center (ASC) of BFSU's School of English and International Studies (SEIS), and is the first of 10 centers across China.
