Announcing the Data Journalism Workshop for Educators at Tsinghua University

Tsinghua University School of Journalism and US-China Education Trust announces the launch of Data Journalism Workshop for Educators, to be held on the campus of Tsinghua University from September 2-6, 2016. 

Data journalism is one of the fastest growing disciplines in journalism education today. The field represents an expanding set of skills for developing and telling stories through numbers.  The interdisciplinary nature of the field encourages educators and students from journalism, computer science, design and other concentrations to collaborate and work together to strengthen the field.

This workshop is especially designed for educators who are teaching data journalism at their respective universities. The workshop will include theories of data journalism, practical instructions on the various tools of gathering, deciphering and visualizing data, and best practices and guides on how to teach data journalism from Chinese and international experts. The workshop will combine theory and practice, and teaching methodologies, tailored for university instructors of data journalism in China.
